Stampin' Up Masculine birthday pocket card and bow builder punch

This is a quick and easy card that you can make with less than a half sheet of  Designer Series Paper.  The bow tie was made with the Stampin' Up Bow Builder Punch.

The greeting can be stamped or printed on the cardstock insert which is shown on the right.  I chose to use a stamp from the Label Love stamp set for my greeting.

.
I used a piece of 5 1/2" X 8 5/8" Designer Series Paper that  cut 5.5″ x 8.5.  I placed the long edge at the top of my paper trimmer and scored 2 1/8″ from the right edge, flipped it so that the bottom of the long edge is at the top, and then scored side at 2 1/4".   Note: when you cut the paper,  be sure that the design will be right side up when it is in the landscape position.

Fold each end to the center and then fold the corners to make the collar. Adhesive should be used only on  the bottom inside of the card only, the tops must be left open for the insert. Use glue dots or monoadhesive glue to attach the bow tie.

You will need a 4 x 5 piece of coordinating cardstock for the insert base.  Stamp your greeting on a piece of Whisper White cut to 3¾”x 4¾.”

I cut  rectangle of designer paper for the pocket and angled the corners.   I think it should have been a teeny bit larger.

This would make a wonderful Father's Day card.  It would be simple to enlarge the dimensions a bit to make a larger, more impressive card.  Just be sure the bow tie doesn't look lost.

Oh, Hello! stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Sometimes I just do not have enough time to come up with my own design AND I do love to make things from tutorials.  (Probably comes from my former sewing "hobby" - I used to make all my own clothes with Vogue patterns).   My favorite source is Chat Wszelaki at Me, My Stamps who wrote the tutorial for these Oh, Hello! cards.  I used different colors and ribbon, just because I don't like to do it EXACTLY like the tutorial, and because I thought I needed to use up my 2011-2013 In Colors by May 31!!  The good news is that we found out this week that Calypso Coral and Pool Party will be available in the next catalog!  I am so happy because I have been wondering what will I do without Pool Party!

Today I will show you two of the cards I made with an Island Indigo, Pool Party and Calypso Coral color scheme:

This card has a unique fold that I have not seen before, and adds some interest to the card.

Happy Valentine's Day! Hearts A Flutter Card

At long last I am taking the time to post a card I made.  A very few people received this card for Valentine's Day this year.  I used several of my favorite items from the Stampin' Up! 2013 Spring Catalog - Paper Doilies, Hearts A Flutter BUndle, More Amore Designer Series Paper.

I used the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the Real Red Core'dinations card stock and sanded it lightly to give it more dimension.

Stamp Set:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Hearts A Flutter
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Pool Party, Red Red Core'dinations, More Amore Designer Series Paper
Accessories:  Tea Lace Paper Doily, Basic Rhinestones, Real Red Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Framelits - Hearts A Flutter, Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Punches - 2 1/2" Circle, 1 3/4" Circle

Hope you have a very special Valentine's Day!

Lip Gloss Holder

This Lip Gloss Holder is an inexpensive, easy to make gift when you need just a little something or it would be a great stocking stuffer.  I will post directions tomorrow.

Supplies
Stamp Set:  Mixed Medley (hostess set - 2012 Holiday Catalog)
Card stock: Gumball Green, Real Red, Whisper White, Champagne Glimmer, Red, Glimmer, Snow Festival Designer Series Paper
Ink: Gumball Green
Accessories: Real Red Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, 1-3/4" scallop circle punch, 1-3/8" circle punch, 1-1/4" circle punch, Scallop Border Punch, Velcro Dot

Halloween with Stampin' Up Wicked Cool Stamp Set

I made these cute little lip gloss holders for everyone who came to my Stampin' Up event last month:

They were so easy to make - all it took was a strip of card stock, add a strip of Designer Series Paper, score and fold to make the little purse, the add ribbon and the stamped image.  Very easy, but very cute and impressive.  I forgot to take pictures until I was ready to leave, so I did not get the details like I should have.

Here is my supply & tool list:
Stamp Set:  Wicked Cool
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Basic Back, Whisper White, Designer Series Paper - Howlstooth & Scaringbone (2012 Holiday Catalog)
Ink: Tangerine Tango
Accessories:  Ribbon - Striped Satin (2012 Holiday Catalog) Pearls (painted black with a permanent marker); Stampin' Dimensionals; Punches - Oval Scallop, Large Oval, Scallop Trim Border.

So how is that for a cute little gift that doesn't require many supplies or tools?  I will try to do some Christmas ones and post a tutorial in a week or two.

Another challenge - Stampin Queens Sketch Challenge SQSC 31

Yes, it's me, again!, with another challenge.  This is the last Sneak Peek as I need to save the excitement for April 1st. I needed to make a card last week, and saw this Stampin Queens Sketch Challenge which was perfect for my design idea.  So here is my entry for SQCS 31!

Stamp Set:  Bright Blossoms

Card Stock:  Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Glossy White (for the fussy cut vase with flower to give it a glossy look)

Ink:  Stampin' Write Markers - Real Red, Garden Green, Basic Black

Accessories: Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Real Red 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Punches - Large Scallop Circle, 1-3/4" Circle, Scallop Trim Border

I have to work on my photography, or maybe white is more difficult, because it just isn't showing that I used Stampin' Dimensionals between the card base and the background, underneath the scallop circle and then the vase if affixed to the scallop piece with Stampin' Dimensionals.  It just looks so must better IRL!!!

Here is the sketch:

So head on over to Stampin Queens Sketch Challenge to see what the design team and other entrants did with this sketch.

Keep on stampin'!

Stampin' Up! Christmas Cards 2011

I am going to post Christmas Card samples I made this year, but was too busy to post during the Holiday season.  I noticed that some of my favorite bloggers are doing that, so if they are OK with it, I am, too!
Most of the product is retired, so I am not going to list many details.  If you have a question, just shoot me an email.

This was one of my favorite sets - Christmas Lodge.  I stamped the image with Early Espresso classic ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and layered with Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, and Whisper White.  I used a Signo white gel pen for the snow on the lodge and mica flakes  for snow on the ground. Coloring was done with chalks for a muted effect.  The textured background on the white cardstock layer was done with 119976 Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder which is still available.
Christmas Lodge Stamp Set

My favorite Designer Series Paper in this catalog was the Holly Berry Bouquet.  I loved the glitter and dimension of the stripe, polka dot and snowflake patterns.  For this card I used the glitter stripe and polka dot papers  I wanted to showcase the glitter so I used a small stamp from the Perfect Punches stamp set 120516 which is in the Idea Book & Catalog.  I punched a cricle background from Red Glimmer Paper 121790, also still available. The scallop edge layer was die cut with the Perfect Pennant Sizzix Die 123126.

This is a close-up to show the glitter

Well that is it for today.  It took far too long because I am new at this, so there is a lot of trial and error going on here!
I will be back tomorrow with more cards, I think it will go faster.
And I dont know where all that space is coming from...
Happy Stamping,
Phyllis
