Stampin' Up! Cannery Framelits and Mini Milk Carton Die

My friend Kathy took me along to the Joyful Heart Stampers quarterly Stampin' Up! team meeting a couple weeks ago.  I was so excited to receive this adorable table favor that was given to all the attendees.  It is so cute and I love the idea of using a shaped Framelit to cut a window.

The Sizzix Framelits Dies are so awesome because they can be placed anywhere on the paper.  In this case, the mini carton was cut out first with the Mini Milk Carton Bigz L Die, and then it was run through the Big Shot with the pear and leaf from the Cannery Framelit set to cut a pear shaped window.

I have been stamping the images with the matching stamps and die cutting them.  I learned something new, because this shows that the die cut pear and leaf without stamping work great for this kind of project.

This also features the gorgeous Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper from the 2012 Holiday Catalog.

I also participated in a card swap at this event, so I will have about 20 cards to show you over the next few days!

By the Seashore plus brown packing paper = tablecloths for a Crab Bake

By the Seashore stamp set - the little blue crabs

My good friend Charlotte hosted a Crab Bake and wanted eye catching crab themed table cloths.

She really liked the crab stamp in the Stampin' Up! By the Seashore stamp set.  BUT she needed a LOT of tablecloth, enough to cover 4-5 buffet tables, so it would have taken forever to stamp hundreds of crabs.

This project required a HUGE chunky foam crab stamp that could cover a lot of space with one stamp. She didn't find a chunky stamp, but she found the perfect foam crab in an inexpensive kids craft kit.  It was easily converted to a stamp with Jim Stephan's Jiffy Mount.

The big red crabs looked great, but needed a little something, and that little something was the blue crab stamp from By the Seashore.

What a great use for brown packing paper!

Yes, It looks fabulous!!
Hope that gives you an idea for your next event when you need some custom tablecloths.  This would work on any kind of uncoated paper tablecloth.  It would work on plastic as well, if you use the right kind of ink e.g. StazOn.

I posted this on a Stampin' Up! demonstrator forum, and a member told me she sent this idea to her daughter for their outdoor wedding reception.  Isn't that a great idea to stamp your own wedding invitations and then stamp things to coordinate?

Happy stamping!
