Fancy Folds Handmade card with Stampin' Up Mixed Bunch Stamp Set

I am member of the Stampin' Divas which is a group of Stampin' Up demonstrators who swap handmade cards featuring Stampin' Up Only products on a monthly basis.  The March theme was Fancy Folds Cards so I will show you the cards I received during the next few days.

First up is a lovely variation of a Joy Fold card made by Danette Ruger Throckmorton at Dannie's Creative Outlet.

She used several stamp sets - Mixed Bunch, Four Frames and a birthday greeting from Petite Pairs.  The supply list is at the end of the post.

Supply List
Stamp Sets:   Mixed Bunch, Four Frames, Petite Pairs
Colors:  Basic Black, Whisper White, Cantaloupe Crisp, Pistachio Pudding
Accessories:  Backgrounds Designer Series Paper Stack - 2013-2015 In Colcr Collection
Tools:  Punches - Designer Label, Circle, Blossom, Scallop Trim Border; Sizzix Top Note Bigz Die.

And, yes, she hand cut the printed paper die at the dot punch border so that she had a smaller die to layer on the white cardstock.

This would be a very impressive card to make for someone's birthday!
Happy Stamping!

Stampin Up Happy Watercolor stamp set - a new favorite

I promised I would show you the card I used for my Sale-A-Bration workshop.  It showcases the Happy Watercolor stamp set, Tea Lace Paper Doilies and White Stampin Chalk Marker

The first version features a Gold Embossed Tea Lace Paper Doily.  The flowers are stamped with Black StazOn ink and colored with a White Stampin Chalk Marker.  The card is accented with the polka dot washi tape from the Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape set.  I used the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder to add texture to the Coastal Cabana layer.

Some people prefer a simpler card or just like a different look, so I offered an option with a plain Tea Lace Paper Doily.  There are 3 designs in the set of Watercolor Wonder Washi tape, so I showed the stripe tape on this card.  The Coastal Cabana layer is embossed with the Simply Striped Embossing Folder..
The sentiments are from Stampin' Up Gifts of Kindness stamp set. This is a favorite because it has so many great sayings that fit perfectly in the Word Punch.

Stampin Up Supplies:
Stamp Sets:  Happy Watercolor, Gifts of Kindness (sentiments)
Card stock:  Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White
Accessories:  Tea Lace Paper Doilies, Watercolor Wonder Washi tape, White Stampin Chalk Marker, Stazon Ink - Black, Circle Framelits, Punches - Word punch, Modern Label.   Other supplies as noted with the card description.

Now don't you think you NEED the Stampin Up Happy Watercolor stamp set??

Happy Pi Day!

My brother and his wife are Math Professors at Auburn University so I made these card for Pi Day which is celebrated March 14th.

I used the Auburn University school colors - navy blue and orange.
The first card is a base of Midnight Muse, a layer of Gold Foil paper, and letters cut from Tangerine Tango with the Sizzix Typeset Alphabet Bigz dies.

The second card base is Cantaloupe Crisp.  The printed paper is from Stampin' Up's Soho Subway Designer Series Paper.  I actually meant to cut the numbers from Cantaloupe Crisp but grabbed the wrong paper and didn't have time to redo it!  But at least I got the Auburn School colors...

Stampin' Up! Blooming with Kindness Sympathy Card

This Stampin' Up! set, Blooming with Kindness, is a very versatile set.  It includes the large flower which can be a focal point or background or even both, as well as sentiments for Thank You, Birthday, Encouragement, and Sympathy.  I needed a larger sentiment for this card, so I chose the sympathy from the Blessings From Heaven stamp set.

Blooming with Kindness stamp set
I layered Sycamore Street (2013 Sale-A-Bration) on Whisper White and attached it to the Summer Starfruit card base with Stampin ' Dimensionals.  I stamped the flower on Whisper White.  I stamped a two more flowers on Whisper White - cut one complete flower and one center and attached each one with Stampin' Dimensionals for a 3D flower.  I adhered a Tea Time Paper Doily to the card base and then attached the image piece with more Dimensionals.  (after I layered it on some Basic Gray card stock.

I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray on Whisper White and punched it out with the Large Oval Punch.  I punched 2 Basic Gray ovals and glue them on the back to form a frame.  I attached this to a Summer Starfruit label that was cut with the Apothecary Accents Framelits die.  I used Basic i Gray brads on the label and attached it to the card base with Stampim' Dimensionals.

I sure do use a lot of Stampin' Dimensionals but they really add a lot of visual appeal to a card.

Have fun stampin'!
