Fancy Folds Handmade card with Stampin' Up Mixed Bunch Stamp Set

I am member of the Stampin' Divas which is a group of Stampin' Up demonstrators who swap handmade cards featuring Stampin' Up Only products on a monthly basis.  The March theme was Fancy Folds Cards so I will show you the cards I received during the next few days.

First up is a lovely variation of a Joy Fold card made by Danette Ruger Throckmorton at Dannie's Creative Outlet.

She used several stamp sets - Mixed Bunch, Four Frames and a birthday greeting from Petite Pairs.  The supply list is at the end of the post.

Supply List
Stamp Sets:   Mixed Bunch, Four Frames, Petite Pairs
Colors:  Basic Black, Whisper White, Cantaloupe Crisp, Pistachio Pudding
Accessories:  Backgrounds Designer Series Paper Stack - 2013-2015 In Colcr Collection
Tools:  Punches - Designer Label, Circle, Blossom, Scallop Trim Border; Sizzix Top Note Bigz Die.

And, yes, she hand cut the printed paper die at the dot punch border so that she had a smaller die to layer on the white cardstock.

This would be a very impressive card to make for someone's birthday!
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up Exclusive Dress Form Pop 'n Cuts Die with Dress Up Framelits Die

I made my first Pop 'n Cuts card and I love it!  It is so much fun to dress up the Dress Form with your own design. It is twice as much effort as the usual card because you need to design the card front as well as the interior dress form pop up.

Here is the front of the card which features the dress form from the Dress Up Framelits.  I cut the dress form frame from Basic Gray card stock and the printed dress form from Tea for Two Designer Series Paper.  I embellished it with a flower from the Flower Trim ribbon and some Basic pearls.

The strip of DSP is also from Tea for Two.  The background layer is Calypso Coral embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Folder.  The greeting frame from the Four Frames stamp set was stamped with Lucky Limeade and the greeting is from Petite Pairs stamp set.  The ribbon is Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon  which will retire on May 31, 2013. I will be so sad to see the ruffled ribbon go, but they always come up with new favorites.

This is the fun part of the part - the dress form pop up.  The pop up was cut from Sahara Sand card stock.  I added striped paper for "wall paper" and dotted paper for a "rug' - both from the Neutrals Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stack.   I cut a dress top and skirt from Tea for Two Designer Series Paper with the Dress Up Framelits.  The belt was made with natural ribbon, cut in half lengthwise.  I punched a flower from the same DSP collection and embellished it with a Basic Pearl.   The greeting from Blooming with Kindness was stamped and then punched with the Large Oval Punch.  I layered on Early Expresso cardstock that was die cut with an Apothecary Accents Framelit.  I used lots of Stampin' Dimensionals in all the layers.

My sketch included a wall mirror made with Silver Glimmer Paper and the Oval Framelits, and Edgelit borders at the top and bottom, but I ran out of time...  And that would be another story!!

Here is a close up of the dress:
I made these for a swap, and have pieces to make 4 more cards.  My plan is to finish them tonight...  We'll see!

Stamp, stamp, stamp!!

Apothecary Accents Framelits, Papillon Potpourri & Four Frames Stamp Sets

If you are looking for the Late Night Stampers Fall Treasure Hunt go here or scroll down September 4, 2012 to find it.

And now for a card I made for a "new catalog" swap I participated in June that I never posted.  This features some new products - Pappillon Potpourri Stamp Set and matching Butterfly Punch, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Large Scallop Edgelit, and Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper.

Supply list is at the end.  I came up with my own card fold and closure, but the layout was inspired by a card  I saw on Paper Crafts Connection.  I folded the card and cut the widest edge with the Large Scallop Edgelit.  I cut Whisper White Card Stock with an Apothecary Accents Framelit focal piece and stamped it with the Netting stamp and Daffodil Delight ink.  I sponged a lot of  Daffodil ink on the edges and lightly in the center to give it dimension.  The butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set was stamped it with Rich Razzleberry and then punched with the Butterfly Punch.  I colored the pearls with Bic Mark-It permanent markers because the Stampin' Write Markers don't work for this.  I chose the Mark-Its because that set has so many that are close to Stampin' Up! colors. The Four Frames image was stamped with Rich Razzleberry and punched with the Decorative Label Punch.  The sentiment is from the Perfect Punches stamp set, and was punched with the Large Oval Punch.  The Rich Razzleberry scalloped layer was punched with the Scallop Oval punch, then cut in half the long way and spread apart to form a frame.  Only the right side of this piece is attached to the card.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals so that it is raised above the card, allowing the scallop edge of the card to slide under it to close the card.

Thanks for looking,
Phyllis Strickland
